Scarborough RUFC
Great follow on from Whitby Rally, if you want to explore more of North Yorkshire.
Made more than welcome by all the rally officers.
Great location at Scarborough Rugby Club in village of Scalby, with Bus stop just outside.
The Rugby Club has a bar/café open daily to everyone and Ralliers also have the use of the Gym shower rooms which are excellent.
Scalby village has lovely tearooms and pubs and is lovely to walk around.
It's easy to get into Scarborough via car or bus. North Bay has a lovely beach at as well as Peasholm Park and Alpamare water park.
South Bay also has a lovely beach, amusements and lots of other attractions.
There is a cycling/walking path at the bottom of the rally field which you can go either way into Scarborough or Ravenscar etc.
We enjoyed the Drinks/Nibbles get together as well as a great Quiz and Bingo night.
Children's activities were also arranged.

Pickering
The usual friendly welcome from Ros, John, Joy and Ian.
Very central location especially if you want to travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. There are some steam trains as well as Diesel, which go to Grosmont, Goathland and Whitby.
It's just a short walk into Pickering, which has nice shops, cafes and 2 supermarkets in the town .
There are lots of places to visit locally including Dalby Forest where there are plenty of walks as well as bike trails to explore.
Thornton le Dale is popular if you want to visit Mathewson's which was featured on "Bangers for Cash TV series.
Broadings Farm Whitby
Lovely welcome from the families running the Rally.
The change of venue to Broadings Farm was a bonus, with lots of lovely views looking across to Whitby Abbey.
Park and Ride just up the road if you want to use it to get into Whitby.
Whitby is a great place to explore, with lots of history and plenty for everyone.
Sneaton Castle was within walking distance and had various animals to see on the way to the entrance. Lovely food and drink available as well as coffee and cake. Well worth a look at this lovely old building.
This is also a good Rally if you want to get on the Cinder Track to cycle or walk to the various villages along the coast.
Lovely beach at Whitby or Sandsend near by.
Great area on rally for children to play and games were organised by the Rally Officers.
Nice to get together for a bit of a social night.
Lovely rally if you want to explore or just enjoy the views.
Malton Rugby Club
Our first time at the Malton Rugby Club Rally and we were not disappointed.
Lovely welcome from our Rally Officers Dave and Karen.
Excellent venue for a short walk from the rally field to the River, which is great for dog walkers and you can also get into town this way. Other routes into town easy accessible
either walking or in the car.
Plenty of supermarkets near by as well, as lovely independent shops in Malton. Talbot's Yard worth a visit.
A couple of nice pubs within walking distance for either a drink or a meal.
Lots of lovely places to visit close by, including Eden Camp. Castle Howard is also nice even if you only want to walk around perimeter of the House, or visit the farm shop/cafe and garden centre. Free parking is a bonus.
Bus stop near by if you want to venture in Scarborough, York etc. There is also a station at Malton.
We had some great get togethers for alternative Bingo, a quiz and a sing along.
We even had a Boules Competition using plastic Boules , which was at our level.
Looking forward to coming to Malton again in the future.
Heighington Rally
Lovely long weekend rally at Heighington, great venue just outside of Darlington.
Sheila, Dave, Ros and John did an excellent job despite the weather not being too good.
Good quiz Dave, pity we couldn't have got together for your planned Chinese Bingo, but brollies would have been needed.
Took our grandchildren who enjoyed themselves and they loved the Locomotion Museum in Shildon, which was only a short car journey away. We also visited Archers Ice-cream Parlour, which ended our day off lovely.
9 children attended the rally just a shame they didn't really get to play out together (too wet).
Looking forward to our next trip out.
Fremington Rally
Great long weekend, Ros, John, Ian and Joy made everyone welcome and the weather was kind enough for us to sit and chat one night then have a Quiz and Bingo another night.
Lovely views from the Rally field and you are able to walk in to Reeth where there are pubs, cafes, shops and a nice Ice-cream Parlour.
There is a lovely cafe at the Dales Bike Centre, which is a short walk from the Rally field and they do great food, coffee and cake at reasonable prices.
There is also a great Book Exchange in Grinton.
Cracken House Farm Leyburn
Another lovely holiday Rally with fabulous views from the Rally field, Dave, Helen, Geoff and Joan did a great job making everyone welcome and we had a good night of Bingo and Quiz.
It's a great location for walking into Leyburn and great walks close by and places to visit either on foot or by car.
The Wensleydale railway was even operating (best check time table before you decide to go).
Dave the Rally Marshall even introduced the Ralliers to "Henderson's Relish". Obviously the best thing to come out of Sheffield.
Looking forward to next year.
Durham RUFC
We arrived early afternoon to a typical warm welcome from Dave. Karen, John and Roz. We were shown to a front row pitch, directly facing the area for the rounds of quoits and lawn darts. Fish and chips for tea and then settling in.
Saturday morning at 7am Andy was seen shirtless and shoeless meticulously preparing the sports area. 10am the first combatants arrived, then it was recliners out, drink in hand, to watch the competition.
BBQ for tea and then flag at 6pm for thanks, competition winner and sports winners. This was followed by an hilarious game of family boules using plastic balls on an uneven patch of grass and a jack that was generally invisible.
Over the weekend there were a number of rugby games going on for the oval ball fans, and the riverside walk to Durham was well used.
All in all an excellent venue blessed with glorious weather and paired with excellent marshals.
Ellerton Lake
Just returned from Ellington lake caravan rally, what a Hell of a rally, Duham centre joined them for the rally, and all of us really, really had a great time...from the coronation, street party and games ...to Dave and John's quizzes , the marshals, Dave, John, Sheila and Ros, worked their socks off.....thanks guys, looking forward to doing it all again.
Easter at Huby
We felt we wanted to formally acknowledge the excellent rally at Huby over the Easter Bank Holiday. Rachel, Stuart, Harriet, Nick, Janine, Zach and Sophie worked tirelessly for the benefit of all the ralliers.
It was a superb rally with something for everyone. Nick brought football goalposts and other sports equipment while Rachel was on hand with craft materials.
There were about 23 children from 26 vans on the rally and it was wonderful to see them having a great time in a safe environment. The children were delightful, very polite and respectful. The rally officers organised the local fish and chip shop to open early for our Good Friday fish and chips. There are several lovely walks in the area and the bus leaves the village for York, a journey of about 30 minutes.
We would like to say thank you to the rally officers and their families for a fantastic, friendly rally. Let's hope we can keep the children coming!
Thanks again and see you next year.
